WHAT FAITH MEANS TO ME

faith |fāTH| noun 1 complete trust or confidence in someone or something: Her faith was restored.

I was recently asked to contribute a short devo entry on the aspect of faith for a devotional book being published this year (a book I can’t wait to share with all of you!). As I began writing down my notes for the devo, I went way over my word count as the attributes of faith began to pour out of my heart and onto the page.

I thought I would share these personal notes with all of you today, in case any of you are struggling in the area of faith—or if you just need a little boost for your belief! Life isn’t always easy, and I’ve experienced lows and highs just like everyone else. But the one thing that has gotten me through every mountaintop moment and every deep, dark valley, has simply been, my faith in Jesus.

So, here are my hand-written notes. Unpolished, and straight from the heart of someone who is dependent upon God for every breath. I hope they will encourage you today!

Faith.

Faith is believing!

Faith is simply knowing that all things work together for the good for those He has called according to His purpose.

Faith is believing His will over ours.

Faith is often not having a plan and learning from making bad decisions without seeking His will first.

Faith is trusting Him to make sense of every season of life. Whether it be choosing which college to attend, which career to pursue, or trusting that your spouse has already been set apart just for you. Faith is trusting that you will be a good mom or dad to your kids. Faith is trusting Him in our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Faith is knowing that His plan is always better than ours, even when it doesn’t make sense. Faith is knowing that His plan is better than anything we could ever dream of.

Faith is believing that we are equipped to do all the things He has called us to do. We accomplish this, by faith, even when we are afraid. Faith is trusting that He will send the right people, open the right doors, and give us the right words at the right time.

Faith is being a good steward of what He has entrusted to us, believing that nothing will be wasted and that everything and every circumstance serves a purpose.

Faith is trusting that He can use us right where we are, using our work and making our place of business a mission field to bless others and to advance His Kingdom.

Faith is trusting that God has a good plan for our lives and that He will take care of every detail. Faith is trusting Him in the valleys and the mountaintops. Faith is knowing that hard situations are necessary for our growth and preparation for the responsibilities that will come with our greatest blessings.

Faith is believing in His goodness, in an increase of His greatness, in unexpected miracles, and in provision for every vision He gives to us.

Faith is knowing He will equip us for every season, every struggle and every success.

Faith is believing that He is enough. That with Him, we have everything we will ever need in this life.

Faith is knowing that there is nothing we could ever do that would cause Him to love us any less or to leave us. Faith is knowing He loves us entirely, without condition.

Faith is believing that His timing is perfect in all things, and trusting that only He can make impossible things possible.

Faith is loving God for who He is and not for what He can give to us.

Faith is a daily surrender of all things, knowing that nothing is about us and all of our life is about Him.

Faith is believing He is the only one who can turn our situation around, fix our mistakes, heal us, purify our lives, change our desires, transform our lives, give us second chances and position us exactly where we need to be.

Faith is knowing we were born with a specific purpose, calling and destiny on our lives.

Faith is supernatural peace in every storm.

Faith is the awareness that our struggles are only temporary and heaven is forever. Faith is believing we will be reunited with loved ones once again, that we will have new bodies and that one day, there will be no more sickness, disease or hate.

Faith is believing that it is possible, with His power, to build a better world where love prevails over evil.

Faith is the greatest gift we could ever receive from our loving Father in heaven.

Faith is knowing that nothing can or will ever separate us from God’s love.

Faith is knowing that His love is all we will ever need.

What does faith mean to you??

XO-

Sabrina
