Her Story: Lauren Robinson Bea
her |həː, hə| pronoun 1 used as the object of a verb or preposition to refer to a female person: Her beauty radiates from within.
I loved having my beautiful and talented friend, Lauren Robinson Bea, at Equipped by Faith last night. I could feel the love of God in the room as she shared her heart with each of us. I love our sisterhood so much!
Lauren is a Christian recording artist, currently in the studio with producer Otto Price (For King and Country, Barlow Girl) readying her debut EP which is set to release in the spring of 2018. The native Texan's EP includes songs written about her life, faith, and identity including "Sovereign Still," "Everything," and "Wildflower." Béa currently resides in Nashville, TN with her husband, Keenan and their two-year-old daughter, Kaidence.
She flew all the way to Dallas from Nashville to spend the evening with us last night, and I know everyone left feeling encouraged and challenged by her beauty, humility, talent, and testimony.
To hear more, read through some of our Q&A with Lauren below!
Q&A with Lauren Robinson Bea
1. What do you think you were put on this earth for? What is your biggest dream?
I truly believe I am here to create music and share my story, but it goes so much deeper than that. First and foremost, I believe everyone’s calling is to be a disciple of Christ—and that shows in our day to day life (whether it’s offering to babysit your neighbor's kids for free or paying for an elderly person's groceries at the store, etc.). We are all called to be His disciples everywhere—and to me, that is my calling.
2. What are some of the obstacles you have had to go through to get to this point?
With music, it was simply getting started. I had so many doubts when starting my journey that I finally had to just go for it. In general, I have always struggled with identity issues (in Middle school, college, married life, etc.).
3. What motivates or inspires you?
I am motivated and inspired by seeing other women succeed in what they do and also seeing God move in my life.
4. What do you want to be remembered by?
I want to be remembered for the legacy I left for Christ on this earth. Nothing else truly matters in the end. Everything we have now will not be coming with us when we die. How we lived our lives, and who we lived them for, is the most important thing.
5. What advice would you give other women searching for their purpose, passion, & faith?
Just say YES when God places you in the position to move. We hold ourselves back too much.
6. What has been your greatest achievement in life?
Being a mom to my two-year-old daughter, Kaidence.
7. How does what you do reflect what God placed on your heart to share with the world?
I am an artist and I create music that inspires and uplifts people. Religious or not, my music is for everyone and I wanted it to have a mainstream feel to it so it would attract all types of people.
8. What books are you reading?
Everything ever written by Francis Chan lol. I’m also currently reading Priscilla Shirer's Bible study, Discerning the Voice of God.
9. How do you stay encouraged & faith-filled?
I have to, have to, have to make a conscious effort to set my eyes and ears and heart on Him. When I stray just a little bit, I can tell in the way I respond to people and how I live my day to day life. I am more irritable and less forgiving when I’m not focused on Him.
10. Favorite scripture of the moment (or ever)? :)
Psalms 139. I love the whole chapter because it talks about how God knew us before we were even created in our mother's womb. How amazing to know that God KNOWS us before we were even born!
I hope you enjoyed these encouraging words from Lauren. I can’t wait to see you next month at Equipped by Faith with author and speaker Ify Ikekhua!
XO-
Sabrina
