Her Story: Niya Cotton

her |həː, hə| pronoun 1 used as the object of a verb or preposition to refer to a female person : Her voice was overflowing with the love from her heart.

Last night was so powerful! Because of your shopping and giving, we were able to raise nearly $3,000 to support Neisha Byrd through the Byrd House Boutique. Now, she is one step closer to owning her own home and being able to take care of her family. Equipped by Faith is all about the power of a committed community—and you all showed that last night by your giving.

We were all so touched by Niya Cotton and her beautiful voice—first, through worship and then by her heart for God and others. She says she’s not a “speaker” but just like Moses (who was afraid of speaking himself), she allowed God to use her and speak through her—and we were all blessed because of it.

Niya Cotton is a talented worship leader, wife, and mother from Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas. She released her debut album "Someday" in 2008 and is currently working on her widely anticipated sophomore project. Niya's calling is to bridge the generational gap through worship and to provide a fertile atmosphere for healing, restoration, and deliverance. We were all touched by her beautiful heart for God and others!
