Leap of Faith
faith |feɪθ|noun [ mass noun ]1 complete trust or confidence in someone or something: She had faith that she could move mountains.
Life is all about making decisions. We get to decide what job we want to pursue, what person we want to marry, what kind of coffee we want to drink. From the most simple to the most complicated–each decision requires a certain amount of faith.
My brother and his wife recently moved their family to Dallas from the city we grew up in down in Laredo, Texas. They left the comfort of a familiar city, school system, and both of their families to pursue a new career and a completely new season of life.
Sometimes, when we are faced with big decisions in our lives, we can become paralyzed because we are afraid of making the wrong choice. This only causes unnecessary stress and anxiety, because God promises us in His Word that He determines our steps.
"We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps." Proverbs 16:9
God reminds us in Matthew 6:34 that we are to be anxious for nothing because He takes care of the details of our lives. This verse is so important because it requires complete faith and trust in God. When we put our faith in God, we are giving Him complete control, trusting that He knows what is best for us and our families. This takes great faith, but it is so worth it!
"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today." Matthew 6:34
We have to remember that God loves us and wants the best for our lives. When you feel like He is leading you into a new season of your life, closing doors and opening others–pray! Ask God to lead and direct your life and say YES to all He is asking you to do.
My brother and his wife were unsure if they should leave the comfort of their lives in Laredo, but now, God has provided new careers, wonderful schools, new friends, and the ability to pursue starting a God-given dream through Dallas Elite Athletics–all because they took a bold step of faith to move where they felt God was leading them.
God is not going to ask you to do something and then leave you all alone. He walks with us, not ahead or behind.
"For I know the plans I have for you… Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
My prayer for us today: Father, I pray that you would help us to listen to your voice today. I know you have a calling and a purpose for each of our lives. Show us what that is. Speak to our hearts and help us to take the steps of faith that are required to get us to where you are leading us. Give us great faith. I pray you would give us peace and joy as we give all of our anxiety and worries to you. You are a good Father, and you care about every detail of our lives. We love you! Amen!
Praying that you and I will step out in faith today to pursue all God has for us, today and always!

Sabrina
