Equipped by Faith was POWERFUL last night with our lovely guest, and my beautiful friend, Cora Jakes Coleman. Most know Cora as the eldest daughter of the world-renown speaker, writer, and preacher (my very own), Pastor T.D. Jakes. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, because when Cora's mouth opens--wisdom begins to flow out. You can tell she has been being poured into from an early age from Bishop and First Lady, Serita Jakes.

The room was filled with laughter and tears as Cora brought incredible wisdom, passion, and purpose to the hearts of those listening. Cora is passionate about living a life of purpose and fertility and defines fertility as the ability to produce while encouraging individuals of all walks of life to produce their talents and their purpose by fighting with faith. We were all blessed by her words!

She is a preacher and the author of the best-selling book, Faithing It: Bringing Purpose Back to Your Life. She is married to her husband, Brandon Coleman, and the mother of her beautiful daughter, Amauri and energetic son, Jason. She directs the children's ministry at The Potter's House in Dallas, Texas and runs her own Cora Jakes Ministry efforts.

If you missed last night, I want to share the answers to our interview questions below!

Q&A with Cora Jakes Coleman

1) What do you think you were put on this earth for? Biggest dream?

I know I have been placed on this earth to ignite the faith in others and heal the heart of the child in every one adult or young.

2) What are some of the obstacles that you have had to go through to get to this point?

I am always overcoming obstacles I believe they are great opportunities for growth. Of course, my biggest obstacles would be marriage and infertility.

3) What motivates/inspires you?

Wow. I always find a way to be motivated and inspired by everything I experience in life. My biggest motivations and inspirations would certainly be my spiritual family, natural parents, my sister, and brother, Jamar, are my biggest inspirations and motivators.

4) What do you want to be remembered by?

I want to be remembered as real, and faithful.

5) What advice would you give other women searching for their purpose, passion & faith?

Begin to be transparent and open with God. Make sure that your consistency matches your commitment with God.

6) What has been your greatest achievement in life?

I would like to think I am still reaching my greatest, but if I have to choose one, it would be choosing me over dying on the inside at the hand of people that easily took advantage of me.

7) How does what you do reflect what God placed on your heart to share with the world?

Every day, I feel God in ways that I share with the world. I spend my life ministering privately and publicly to the world about having faith to believe God and challenge myself daily to go deeper and be a doer and bearer of the Word by exercising personal convictions. I’m a children's pastor, which also gives me an opportunity to care and tend to the heart of a child.

8) What books are you reading?

A Profit/Prophet to Her Husband and Confessions of a Proverbs 31 Woman

9) How do you stay encouraged & faith-filled?

Reading my Word as often as I need encouragement in my heart mind and soul. Keeping my eye gates and ear gates filled with wisdom more than the world. Making sure my consistency with God outweighs my consistency with the world.

10) Favorite scripture of the moment (or ever)? :)

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 and "Consider it pure joy when these test & trials come that you may be complete lacking nothing." James 12-3

Love you all, and can't wait to see you next month at Equipped by Faith!

XO-

Sabrina
